Rockapon ETU

Rockapon ETU is a leveling and penetrating agent which is particularly advantageous in the dyeing of Vats. Naphtols, sulphur dyes. In addition it has dispersing and protective colloidal effects. It dissolves easily in water, is neutral in reaction and unaffected by the various chemicals used dyeing like Dilute Alkalies and Acids. Sodium Sulphide, Hydrosulphite, Formaldehyde etc.

The following advantages are to be derived from the use of Rockapon ETU:

* Perfectly level shades in dyeing.

* Economy in Dyestuffs.

The action of Rockapon ETU in the dyeing of Vats, Naphthols and Sulphur Colors is multiple in characters. This product acts as:

1. A DISPERSING AGENT for dyestuff and ensures a perfectly homogenous dye bath.

2. A RETARDING AGENT in the absorption of dyestuff by the fiber, i. e, it acts as a Leveling Assistant.

3. A PROTECTIVE AGENT against the effect of Lime Salts, when dyeing in hard water, it is possible to obtain the equal depth and brightness of shade as when dyeing in soft water.

DYEING OF VAT COLOURS: it is a powerful leveling agent for vat dyestuffs i. e. indigo Vats and Anthraquinone Vats.

It is very suitable for all phases of Vat Dyeing i. e. Circulatory Machine Dyeing, Piece Dyeing by Jig and Pad Jig Methods, Dyeing Yarns difficult to penetrate i. e. sewing threads. Embroidery yarn, etc.
Its addition is recommended only to dye bath. The quantities necessary will be 300gms, to 1000gms, per 5000 liters dye bath to give satisfactory results. It reduces to a certain extent the exhaustion of Vat Dyes. Hence in case of some Vats, the addition of Rockapon ETU should be adjusted to get the original shades.

Unleveled dyeing of Vat Colors can be effectively leveled up by treating for 30 minutes in a bath of Caustic and Hydrosulphite containing about 1 kg . Per 5000 liters Where only hard water is available the effect of the Calcium Salts is completely nullified by this addition and it is possible to produce equally full and bright shades as when working in distilled water. In this way, an appreciable economy in dyestuffs is realized.
DYEING OF SULPHUR Colors: Hard water presents no difficulties in the dyeing of Sulphur Colors but the above recommended addition of Rockapon ETU has the purpose of improving dispersion of the dyestuff giving better level dyeing.

NAPHTHOL DYEING: In hard water, the fastness to rubbing of the dyeing is considerably improved. Here it is used as a Universal Protective Colloid for Stabilizing Naphthol solution.

Rockapon ETU A general Dye bath leveling Agent:

It can be used as a general dye bath leveling agent for Basic, Direct and Dispersed Acetate Dyes. It is quite stable to organic acid and basic dye solutions and hence it is one of a few auxiliaries which can be used as a Leveling Agent when dyeing Vat Colors. While wet developing Indigo on Jigs or in continuous manner its addition to acid developing bath helps in keeping the loose developed dye pigment in a nice state of dispersion and hence helps in avoid duller shades and scum marks.

Rockapon ETU for Stripping VAT & NAPHTHOLS SHADES:

Stripping is difficult with Caustic & Hydrosulphite only. Addition of Rockapon ETU to the stripping bath increases the stripping efficiency.

The dyed material may be worked at or near boil for 30 to 40 minutes in Caustic-Hydrosulphite bath containing 4 to 6 Kg per 5000 litres bath. In case of Vat Colors it is not possible to get absolutely white but a sufficiently pale shade is obtained.

N.B. In all cases of Dyeing Rockapon ETU should be added to the dyebath before the addition of Caustic Soda, Soda Ash or the Dyestuffs.
